The Belmont Forum has officially launched a Collaborative Research Action (CRA) funding call on Transdisciplinary Research for Pathways to Sustainability. The call focuses on supporting transdisciplinary networks to innovate solutions and/or synthesise positive and negative inter-linkages across the SDGs, which will contribute to the co-design of sustainable development pathways.

Future Earth will particularly support early career researchers from Africa in this call.

In order to help African Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to join consortium proposals for the CRA, Future Earth and partners are organising a Virtual Capacity Building Workshop on 9-10 September 2020. They aim to support early career researchers from African countries in 1) gaining a better understanding of the Belmont Forum and its application processes; 2) networking in order to create eligible consortia; and 3) capacity mobilization in communication and proposal writing.

This workshop is jointly organised by Future Earth, the Future Earth Office for Southern Africa (FEROSA), the Program for Early-stage Grants Advancing Sustainability Science (PEGASuS), the National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF), the African Future Earth Committee (AFEC), and the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD).

The call for applications to the virtual workshop is now open and the deadline will be 17 August 2020. You can find all information regarding the call and instruction on how to apply for the workshop here.

Please note that we particularly encourage ECRs from francophone Africa to apply to the workshop.

Feel free to disseminate this call widely within your relevant networks.
