An important current objective within the ZA is to list and to describe the existing databases within the ZA / to reach them if possible / to make treatments inter-databases ZA in the near future (application Metadata ZA)
During the year 2011, the French LTER Network saw its management system evolve for the benefit of open source GeoNetwork, for several reasons:
- International standards for storage and exchange of metadata (ISO, OGC ...).
- Interoperability: possibility of harvesting, import / export of metadata.
- Very strong growth and growing community around this tool.
So is thus urgent today that all the ZA pursues the process of information of metadatas linked to their databases to feed the metabase.
The InterZA metadatabase, current supply, is available at the following URL:

It is therefore urgent that today all LTER continue the process of metadata information related to their databases in order to feed the metabase.
To encourage the exchange and share knowledge and expertise within the network, a wiki was set up in parallel.
